Tag Replication

Tag Replication allows you to repeat certain processes without the need to draw it separately for each occurrence. This tools helps you to add and remove replicated instances.

Accessed from: You can access it by selecting the existing tagged component and right-click on it. Or Select the existing tagged component and click Tag Replication tool from PID Tools ribbon.
Note: If the selected component does not have a tag or is not a TopLevelClass, then right-click Tag Replication option will not be seen. e.g., selecting Instrument, Inline valve, and nozzle will not show right-click tag replication option.

Save
Saves all new and deleted items.
Note: The Save command is only enabled if there are new replicated items or existing deleted replicated items.
New Adds a new replicated Items from the source component .
Delete Deletes replicated items from the source component. Deleted item is indicated by strikethrough.
Sync Synchronizes all the replicated items with their source.
Clear Clears all modifications (New and Deleted).
Increment Type
  • Number :- Increment by Number base. The Number property will be incremented to have next NUMBER value base on the tag uniqueness. e.g. A1-P-0001->A1-P-0002,A1-P-0003
  • Character :- Increment By character base. The Character property will be incremented to have next character value base on the tag uniqueness. e.g. A1-P-0001A-> A1-P-0001B, A1-P-0001C
Property Display To view a read-only display of the properties, right click on a valid tag and select Properties.

Item Types

  • Grouping :-This item is the Overall Grouping container. This holds multiple class groups.
  • Class Grouping :-This item is the Group class. This is determined be classes defined in the tagging supplemental.
  • Source Components :-These are the Component that will be replicated.
  • Existing Replicated Components :-This is existing replicated components that contains a relationship to the Source Component.
  • Existing Replicated Components to be deleted
    • This is an existing replicated component that is marked to be deleted on Save
    • On save the replicated component will be deleted and along with the relationship to the Source Component
  • New Replicated Components
    • This is New replicated component to be created on Save
    • A relationship is created between the Source Component and the new replicated component
